What they do

Bonding Hearts Coaching describes itself as a ministry forty years in the making. The founder traces the call to 2023, when a 72-hour prayer and fast during Easter confirmed a call to serve as an ambassador of reconciliation — both in the vertical dimension, between a person and God, and in the horizontal dimension, between people. The years before that are described as preparation: two graduate degrees (an MS in Family Studies and an EdD in Counselor Education), thirty-one years of church planting, and twenty-five years of homeschooling three children, all of it lived out in Blacksburg, Virginia.

The work is carried out through one-on-one coaching, small groups, and seminars and workshops. At its center is the conviction that broken or strained relationships are not beyond repair, and that rebuilding trust where it has been lost calls for wisdom, grace, and truth. The ministry carries a particular burden for Chinese students and scholars, and doors have also opened to spend time with young LGBTQ+ Asians and to hear their stories and struggles — people the founder describes as loving fiercely while no longer knowing how to reach those closest to them.
