John and Jenny Rolland serve aboard Mercy Ships hospital ships in Africa, Jenny as operating room manager and John in photography, infection prevention, and patient care.

The work
What they do
John committed his life to Christ at 17 and took short-term mission trips while in college. Jenny came to Christ at nine and set her heart on serving aboard a Mercy Ship at 16. They met in 1991, married in 1995, and in 2008 joined the crew of the Africa Mercy in Liberia with their three children. John served as photographer, Jenny as operating room manager.
Impact
What they report
Nearly three years serving as a family in Africa from 2008 to 2011, followed by return service in Sierra Leone and Madagascar beginning in 2023, and again in Madagascar in 2025. They plan to continue serving as needed.
