To the World from Here

A decade ago a group of missionaries were struggling to reconcile the existing missions paradigm with the changing global reality.  The local church was not global and the missions agencies were all too narrowly focused.  How could the global body be empowered to best steward the great commission?

Empower the called!  Today, more than ever, we are convinced that it is inside the called that the true treasure lies - not in the systems that exist to empower them.  For this reason MAP Global exists as a "supporting agency" not a sending agency. MAP Global is designed to "come alongside" as a platform to those on their own unique journey with the Father.  Come join us and experience all that the Lord has called you to!  John 4:10

The Destination

If you are called into full-time ministry or missions one of the first questions anyone will ask you is "why X?"  Why that country, or why those people or why that cause?  The answer might elude you until you consider this...

The Bible demonstrates precedent in 3 types of callings and in light of this your calling may change depending on the season:

People:  Ruth 1:16 - after her husbands death and in her quest for obedience to the Lord Ruth chose Naomi and her people.  This was counter cultural then - and today.

Place:  Genesis 12:1 - The Lord told Abraham of the land he had for him. And in Joshua 3 and 4 the Israelites finally cross the Jordan river into the promised land.

Purpose: Nehemiah 3 - After Jerusalem was devastated Nehemiah received clear instruction to gather the 12 tribes of Israel for the massive task of rebuilding the wall.

Transitioning

There are Two Primary Reasons for Transition

Transitions in the mission field are often difficult because the majority of the existing platforms for missions are narrowly focused, top down and inflexible.  When career missionaries find themselves in a season of transition it often requires the missionary (and their family) to return to their country of origin to recalibrate.  The problem with this is that it is often untimely, expensive, and detrimental to ministry momentum.  Sadly far too many missionaries who leave the field to make these adjustments are never able to return.

What if there were a way to stay in country or in your calling without having to leave the field and lose precious momentum?

New Place - Same Purpose:

So many missionaries feel the Lord calling them to the same service in a new land only to hear their agency say, "we don't work in that country." With this existing paradigm it is easy for missionaries to second guess the Lords direction and calling.

New Purpose - Same Place:

So many missionaries do not end up where they start out... and that is by design.  The Lord will often lead them to a place with one objective only for them to discover the "real" purpose for why they were called once they arrive.  Unfortunately the agency they went with is not flexible enough to accommodate this new ministry objective.

Retirement

Whether you have spent a lifetime in missions or many years in a foreign field, transitioning to a life after missions can be just as stark as your first day abroad. Let MAP assist you with your transition planning and retirement needs.

Furlough

Often missions momentum suffers when the missionary returns to raise awareness and support for the work in the field.  This can be counterproductive but is also an opportunity for growth if planned for and communicated well.  MAP can help!

Extended Leave

When life interferes with your call many missionaries question their timing, calling or term of service. Life happens: Houses do not sell, parents need care, visas are denied and funds stall at times. MAP understands these unique circumstances.
